WHERE ARE WE HEADING...??????
Really that is a question which compells me to think,to analyse and to unfold the world around me.If i compare older times with today's time i may become partial and judgemental because i am not an eyewitness of my parents's and grandparents's childhood. But yes for sure,i can compare the time i have seen, enjoyed and lived with today's fast cut throat copetitive time i am currently in.If i go twelve or fifteen years back in my childhood, surprisingly,i found it completely different from the childhood now i observe around myself. It was real, innocent so naive and pure.I still remember me and my friends would eagerly wait for the evening time in summer vacations to rush out and play for hours and hours and hours till our parents would get tired of screaming after us.Actually if i go back i find trees, butterflies, birds, neighbourhood lanes, terrace, kites, kanche, cards, carrom, ludo, eye spy, pakdam pakdai, self created mimicry plays as my world, i know at that time i would die for all those things. That world was real, feelings were real, emotions were real, that time was awesome.Mine was a joint family so all those who have one can realy connect to this.I remember that incredible time and moments we all as family members shared together. There was a bond of love and care with which we were silently bound. After school everyday,me with my brothers as guide would fly kites on terrace and our grandfather, who always pretented to be very strict, would spy and attack on us like police and then we would run here and there to save our lives.Unfotunately if we ever got caught we had supreme court-my grandmother on our side,by default,to save us.One rupee per day given by my grandmother to us was a big feast and once in a while on some occassion she would us give five rupees and that used to be a big jackpot. At that time childhood was really childhood in every means. We would cry for our friends, collect all stupid items from anywhere just to increase that stock, share everything we had, whether feelings or things with friends. It was a simple sweet and innocent world filled with emotions, love, warmth and care.
Now back to the present when i see around myself i see children but one thing i find missing is their childhood. Now their world comprises of video games, computers, all sorts of electronic gadgets restricting their body and brains just in one room. All the time they are exposed to harmful electromagnetic waves affecting not only their body and brain but genes. It is a serious question that WHERE ARE WE LEADING TO........?
Children are not children anymore. The time they should be busy with their studies and playing you can find them surfing on net about sex and porns.By the time they are nine or ten they are more smarter and mature than we were at fifteen. They just want to grow up very fast.Net surfing, porns, fake friendships, misintepreting infatuation as love and love as sex,isolation,self-centered,early maturity, closed rooms, and frustration these are some words which help me to describe today's chidhood....... Their world is so virtual that they consider a mobile phone more valuable than any relation in their life, it's their only world and they are confined to the actually narrow boundaries of it.Today's competitiveness and faster technology may be one of these reasons responsible for this.To some extent we ourselves are to be blamed for snatching their childhood. In hunger of name, fame, money and position we completely ignore emotional and psychological needs of our children. To get a status in our heartless society we are sacrificing their childhood .
As a resident of national capital since last four years i deeply observed metropoliton childhood and it is very sad and disapointing to find out that ....IT HAS BEEN LOST SOMEWHERE!!!!!!!! gone are the days when childhood was innocent and pure.
I wish those days and time to come back, if it is possible, to make today's children feel that there is a world which is much more BEAUTIFUL than they are presently living in.Finally i feel that TIME.. and EMOTIONS.... are something which are missing from today's world.
